Check Your Eligibility for Medical Cannabis Treatment
Medical cannabis, including THC and CBD, is now available in the UK for a variety of conditions. These active ingredients in cannabis plant extracts are typically used in varying proportions, and are administered in different forms such as vaping whole or ground dry buds, consuming oil concentrates, and other available methods.
While medical cannabis usage is legal in the UK, it is currently available only through private clinics.
Who Can Access Medical Cannabis?
To be eligible for medical cannabis treatment, patients typically need to have tried two other medications for their condition before being considered for cannabis as a treatment. However, this is ultimately decided by the prescribing specialists, who will review your medical history and condition to determine if medical cannabis is appropriate for your needs.
At Haze Labs Clinic, we make every effort to ensure that our patients’ health and well-being are prioritised. Our team will work closely with you to understand your medical history. We may request access to your medical records to make an informed decision on the viability of cannabis treatment for your condition. If you’ve been treated abroad, we may ask you to provide documentation of your medical history directly.
Conditions Treated with Medical Cannabis
While we provide a list of common conditions treated with cannabis, it’s important to note that this list is not exhaustive. Ultimately, the decision on whether medical cannabis is suitable for your condition will be made by our clinic’s prescribing specialists. Some of the conditions we typically treat include:
Chronic Pain
Anxiety
Depression
PTSD
Epilepsy
Irritable Bowel Syndrome
Multiple Sclerosis
Fibromyalgia
Parkinson’s Disease
Cannabis may be a viable treatment option for a wide range of conditions, both physical and mental health-related. Our medical team will assess your case to determine if cannabis products could benefit you.
What if I Have Used Cannabis Illegally for Self-Medication?
If you have previously used cannabis illicitly for self-medication, don’t worry! We understand that many people turn to cannabis for its therapeutic effects when other options have failed. We’ve never heard of a clinic penalising a patient for past usage and are generally supportive of those who have not had legal access to cannabis in the past. Our goal is to help you find the right solution for your health.
Age Considerations
There is no legal age limit for the prescription of medical cannabis in the UK.
The law changes in 2018 made medical cannabis more accessible, particularly for children with conditions like epilepsy. However, clinics are generally more reluctant to prescribe cannabis to individuals under the age of 25, and you may need to demonstrate a more significant need to be considered for treatment.
For individuals under 18, cannabis treatment can only be prescribed by a paediatric specialist and is not commonly offered in most clinics.
